A Flawless Record:
Lagond Music School Students Earn Acceptance and Score Scholarships
At the Colleges of Their Choice
JULY 25, 2017 – Elmsford, NY… As any education expert would agree, the mark of a good preparatory school is in how well it prepares its students for college. Those efforts become tangible when its academia, studies and guidance yield acceptances and scholarships at the colleges and universities that the students hope to attend.
That’s where Lagond Music School stands out from most others. The class of 2017 won an overwhelming acceptance rate of over 97% at the colleges where they applied — in most cases, for multiple schools at that –and received a significant amount of scholarship funding as well. On average, each student was awarded an average of more than $30,000 per year, or a total of nearly $138,500 apiece for the full four years.
Those results have been consistent ever since the school was first founded in 2002. Lagond can claim a proven track record when it comes to helping their students go on to some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and ivy league universities, as well as assisting in attaining placement in many of the nation’s most prestigious programs and competitions. Since its founding, Lagond students have received a total of $12 million dollars in scholarship grants to the colleges of their choice.
This year alone, Lagond students were accepted to such exceptional music schools as the University of Southern California, Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory, Eastman School of Music and University of Miami Frost School of Music among many others. Lagond was also instrumental in positioning students into ivy leagues and top tier liberal arts colleges including Harvard, Brown, Williams, Tulane and Georgetown. (Full list of college acceptances below).
Since the beginning, Lagond has made it their mission to give students, regardless of age, an opportunity to further their love and devotion to music. “We offer opportunities for those who are truly passionate about music,” says Executive Director Rosanne Lana. “What we say to parents is this: if your child is committed to pursue that interest as a life-long vocation or hobby, Lagond has a robust selection of programming to explore. We nurture and encourage their passion and give them the tools to be successful when it comes to development of their artistic abilities.”
This fall, Lagond has expanded its programming to include a division of adult studies as well. The school will offer a series of eight-week workshops that focus on personal and professional development within a band context. Courses include: interaction within a group setting, instruction on jamming etiquette and technique, how to build a repertoire, and learning how to solo in a group context. 2017 Fall enrollment is now underway. All classes begin September 9.
